Chianti Classico Riserva 2018, Marchese Antinori

Chianti Classico Riserva 2018, Marchese Antinori

Date Tasted: 2/2022

Marchese Antinori is one of the largest wine producers in Italy, with plenty of privately owned estates all over Italy and abroad as well. So, deep know-how is needed to keep high quality in such a commercial wine.

Appearance: Medium ruby colour.

Nose: It has a pleasant aromatic profile starting with cranberry, red cherry, liquorice, cumin, and tobacco. Fresh and intense.

Palate: It has high acidity and high tannins. The flavours of forest, cardamon and red plum are intense. The alcohol is hidden. It is medium-bodied with an almost long aftertaste.

Drink or Hold: It is enjoyable now but with long ageing potential.

Food Pairing: Try it with grilled sausages, roasted lamb or pork chops.
