Roditis 2015, Aoton Winery

Date Tasted: 12/2020

If one meets Sotiris, it is hard not to like him (read my tribute to Aoton Winery). He is polite as a character, passionate, with a positive point of view, and focused on quality. Always, when I taste his wines, I have the same feeling that the wine expresses the same polite character. How could this Roditis represent something different?

Appearance: The colour is deep gold.

Nose: If the eyes are closed when the glass approaches the nose, one could easily confuse it with a wine from Santorini. Floral notes, nectarine, lime peel and a deep layer of gunpowder have developed over time.

Palate: It is ripe and pleasurable with some spicy notes, refreshing acidity, medium to full body and long distinctive aftertaste.

Drink: It is at its best now.

Food Pairing: The bottle finishes quite quickly, even without food, so be careful. Try it with fishes like sea bream or sea bass, pork on the pan if you prefer meat or souvlaki.
