Draculea 2017, Legendary Dracula

Draculea 2017, Legendary Dracula

Date Tasted: 11/2022

Although it is tempting to comment on the name, I will skip it and stick to the juice inside the bottle. Romania was influenced and developed viticulture as a former part of the Roman Empire. Today is trying to find its place in the wine world with some good examples of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and a severe investment in indigenous varieties.

Appearance: Deep ruby colour.

Nose: It has depth and lovely layers of ripe fruits of blackcurrant, blueberry, kirsch, lavender, liquorice, green bell pepper and vanilla.

Palate: It is full-bodied with an intense, juicy core of dark fruits, vanilla, cinnamon and coffee. The tannins are high, ripe and gentle, making it super enjoyable. It has a good balance, medium-plus acidity and a medium-length aftertaste.

Drink or Hold: It is pleasant now and will continue to evolve for six years.

Food Pairing: Venison stew.
