Gi & Ouranos 2018, Thymiopoulos

Gi & Ouranos 2018, Thymiopoulos

Date Tasted: 5/2022

Gi & Ouranos is one of the most featured wines in the Naoussa region and represents a new wave of wines where the tannins are tamed, the oak is hidden, and all the attention goes to fresh fruity character and the elegancy.

Appearance: Pale ruby colour.

Nose: It overflows with fresh and juicy red berries like redcurrant, raspberry and cranberry. The bouquet evolves with clove, tomato and liquorice.

Palate: It is so delicious that the bottle can dry out really fast. It has an intense core of red fruits with a layer of spices. The tannins are high yet integrated for the variety's standard. It is a medium-bodied wine with a nice balance and an almost long finish.

Drink or Hold: It is excellent now but with long ageing potential.

Food Pairing: Moussaka.
