Marsannay 2019, Domaine Trapet Père & Fils

Marsannay 2019, Domaine Trapet Père & Fils

Date Tasted: 7/2022

Marsannay is a village in the Côte de Nuits region in Burgundy. It is the only appellation Village which produces wines of all three colours and is famous for rosé. Marsannay is called the 'Golden Gate' because it is the most northern appellation of Côte de Nuits and the first vineyards you meet when you enter the region from Dijon.

The Domaine Trapet Père & Fils has interests in both Burgundy and Alsace. They have vineyards and wineries in both regions and craft some outstanding wines. All the vineyards are farmed according to biodynamic principles.

Appearance: Pale ruby colour.

Nose: It has delicate aromas with fresh yet ripe red fruits like redcurrant, raspberry, cherry and blackberry, supported by floral notes of rose and violet, orange peel, fennel, and mineral hints. It is complex and charming.

Palate: It highlights the Pinot Noir virtues. It is remarkably fresh with an intense core of mainly red and dark berries. It is a medium-bodied wine with high acidity and medium, silky tannins. It has exceptional balance, and the finish is long and tasty. It has the power to blow up your mind, and the bottle drains out fast.

Drink: It is super delicious.

Food Pairing: Cheese and salami are enough.
