Sweet Wishes 2014, Pieria Eratini Winery

Date Tasted: 9/2021

In order to achieve the highest possible quality and to make the distinction, the team of Pieria Eratini winery revived a Byzantine method for sweet wines. They bend the stem yet without breaking it and let the grapes slowly increase their sugar level. This method reveals the primary grape's aromas with excellent balance and finesse. And the aromatic Malagousia is the perfect grape for this exceptional sweet wine.

Appearance: The colour is medium amber.

Nose: Essential aromas emanating from the glass such as honeysuckle and white flowers are supported by peach, apricot and sweet orange.

Palate: It is sweet with excellent balance. The high acidity makes the wine refreshing. Honey, grape and quince are intense. It is round and complex with a truly long aftertaste flavoured with sweet dried fig.

Drink or Hold: It is delicious now but has potential for further ageing.

Food Pairing: Ekmek kataifi, panna cotta and syrupy sweets are the best combinations.
