Tria Ampelia 2020, Oeno P

Tria Ampelia 2020, Oeno P

Date Tasted: 7/2022

Paris Sigalas is an emblematic figure of the Greek wine scene and Santorini's vineyard. He associates his name with some of the greatest Greek white wines. Tria Ampelia is the first wine to be bottled under the Oeno P brand and is a wine that redefines the direction of the varietal. While the majority of the island's premium wines compete in volume and exuberance, Tria Abelia is the definition of finesse.

The grapes come from 3 vineyards, over 60 years old, in Fira, Akrotiri and Megalochori. Pneumatic presses are used to extract the must, ferments and mature in clay amphoras for 16 months along with its fine lees. This is a magnificent Assyrtiko that touches perfection.

Appearance: Pale lemon colour, youthful and bright.

Nose: It is delicate and austere. Aeration will help it develop its flint, lemon, peach, honeysuckle and salt aromas. Fresh and ripe at the same time.

Palate: It unfolds all its finesse! Perfect integration of all elements with high, perfectly balanced acidity. Intense flavours of sweet, ripe fruits such as peach, melon and lemon. Full-bodied but light simultaneously with excellent balance and a magnificent aftertaste.

Drink or Hold: Great now and for the next ten years.

Food Pairing: Oysters.
