South Africa has two essential elements of a great terroir. The ancient soils (oldest than any other wine-growing region) and a wealth of old vines from numerous varieties. Stellenbosch is the most famous wine area since it produces a majority of the finest South African wines, especially reds. Although the main soil types are granite, shale and sandstone, the diversity in altitudes, soils, and microclimates drove authorities to subdivide the area into seven wards Banghoek, Bottelary, Devon Valley, Jonkershoek Valley, Papegaaiberg, Polkadraai Hills, and Simonsbreg-Stellenbossch.

Appearance: Deep ruby colour.

Nose: It has a core of optimal ripe fruits like blackcurrant, blackberry, and cranberry combined with aromas of green bell pepper, mint and leather notes. The heavy influence of Cabernet Franc is distinct.

Palate: It is medium-bodied with high acidity and chewy tannins that need a couple of years to soften. It has a good balance and intense leafy and kale notes. The aftertaste is almost lengthy.

Hold: Start to open it after two years.
