Riesling 2018, Leon Beyer

Date Tasted: 9/2020

It is the typical and traditional style for this Riesling from Alsace. It was crafted from a family so prestigious in the region and a history that goes back to 1580. It is a wine with a lot of freshness and ripeness on the nose and roundness on the palate makes it a perfect example of food-friendly wine.

Appearance: The colour is deep lemon-green.

Nose: Delicate aromas like lime, jasmine, passion fruit, pineapple, eucalyptus, wet gravel and honey being the most notable.

Palate: It has a refreshing acidity, good balance, medium body, intense flavours and medium aftertaste.

Drink or Hold: Drink it now if you like freshness or after 5 years if you like honey notes.

Food Pairing: Try it with stuffed squid with rice, pine seeds and cuttlefish ink.
