Santorini Barrel 2015, Domaine Sigalas

Santorini Barrel 2015, Domaine Sigalas

Date Tasted: 10/2021

Paris Sigalas is an artisan winemaker. Each wine he crafts express Santirini's terroir and even micro-terroir perfectly. As a result, his wines are the most age-worthy on the island, and each one and all of them offers a unique wine experience.

Appearance: Deep gold colour.

Nose: It has depth and complexity with layers: beautiful white pepper, nutmeg, tobacco and petrol, apple, peach and honeysuckle with caramel are just some.

Palate: It is huge on the mouth but at the same time light. Excellent balance! It is full-body with high acidity. Except for the saltiness and minerality, some sweet honey notes appear. The aftertaste is long, sweet and complex.

Drink or Hold: It is marvellous now but can be better in a couple of years.

Food Pairing: Try it with lamb in the oven, and you will be amazed.
